The Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) at the University of Pittsburgh is dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, and stakeholders, supporting the University's mission in education, research, and healthcare. In this role, you will serve as the integral part within PAE's Office of the Vice Chancellor’s department, reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Individual Giving Schools and Centers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Serve as the primary liaison between PAE and the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) and oversee all fundraising activities.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies, including maintaining personal contact with prospects and involving key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the dean to manage the GSPIA Board of Visitors and present on alumni relations and fundraising efforts.
• Create plans to achieve short and long-term development goals and coordinate with various constituents to ensure effective program implementation.
• Prepare and oversee the creation of annual giving and day of giving materials, solicitations, proposals, and other development communications.
• Co-supervise one staff member and perform administrative functions, including using the Affinaquest database.

Job Summary
Oversees development of a program, plans, and activities to create and execute a comprehensive development plan achieving new and recurring contributions to a school, foundation, program, and/or group. Manages a portfolio of major gift donors and strategically builds fundraising prospects. Assists leadership in facilitating a comprehensive communications plan and with development strategies.


Essential Functions
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies by maintaining personal contact with prospects and involving the Dean, faculty, volunteers, and staff as required.

• Manage the qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects for individual major gifts for the school.

• Collaborate closely with the dean to manage the college’s Board of Visitors, including periodic presentations on alumni relations and fundraising efforts.

• Research, write, edit, and oversee the preparation of persuasive annual giving and day of giving materials, solicitations, proposals, correspondence, and other development-related communications.

• Create and implement an annual fundraising plan, including alumni engagement and stewardship activities for the school.

• Co-supervise one FTE (development associate, shared with FHC).


Physical Effort
• Light - Little physical effort required.
• Duties are primarily sedentary.
• May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
